About Us
Edinburgh Community Backgreens Association is a community organisation created to support tenement households to regenerate tenement backgreens into beautiful and useful shared community greenspaces.
Edinburgh Community Backgreens Association, ECBA is a community enterprise, an organisation that is owned and governed by the community it serves. We operate on an not-for-profit basis in that any profits generated from the services we provide are plowed back in build the business or to improve the sites we work at.
We are in the early years of establishing the enterprise and are still dependent upon grant funding, but we hope that in a couple of years time we will replace these grants from income generated from the services we provide to communities. ECBA employs a development team and maintenance staff to manage the initiative and regenerate the sites. We are based at our offices in Rose Street, Edinburgh. If you would like to come meet us, please phone first to make an appointment. We'd be pleased to hear from you.
