Community Backgreen Model, and the community backyards in
Copenhagen that inspired the set up of the Edinburgh project.

You can contact them directly to ask if you can visit. Participate in the Dig For Victory Edinburgh CampaignECBA have established a sister website for its Dig For Victory Edinburgh promotional campaign. The
Dig For Victory Edinburgh site is a social networking which you can join, you can read blogs of current activity, and will receive messages of upcoming events and workshops. Ways you can participate include:-
- posting a blog to the site to say that you are looking to establish a community backgreen site where you live. You may well get offers of support and advice.
- going to the Backgreen Blitz workshops which are periodically announced on the DFVE site. For more information about Backgreen Blitz's see
here.
Take a Raised Bed At An Existing Community Backgreen SiteSome community backgreen groups make raised beds available to folk in their local area that don't live at their site. This is a great way to get an understanding of the workings of a project and to make some connections with like minded individuals in your local area, and of course grow some vegetables.
Raised bed holders normally pay a rent of £20/year for the use of a raised bed. You will also need to pay for the key to get access to the site through a tenement stair. If there is a site near you, and your interested in taking a bed, contact us on
info@ecba.org.uk.
