ECBI - Edinburgh Community Backgreens Initiative - Providing Greenspace for the Community

Forest Gardening- Ground Cover Perennials

Saturday 30th April, 10am -12 midday, Caleys Community Backgreen, Dalry.

Forest Gardening is an edible food production system which draws on permacultural techniques, and mimics the ecosystems found around forest edges.

Margaret, our visiting horticulture expert will explain the best sort of plants to have in a forest garden, focusing on ground cover perennials.  As a lover of useful plants (her nursery is called Plants With Purpose) she will also lead a discussion on their uses and properties.  During the workshop, participants will get hands on experience, planting up the forest garden areas at the Caleys Community Backgreen.

The workshop can be accessed via number 10 Caledonian Crescent.

We are asking folk to contribute £7 to the cost of delivering the workshop.  To register a place, contact ECBA on 0131 243 2698 or by email
